Recalling the days when Baseball’s “gentlemen’s agreement” kept black players out of the Majors, this lot of (100+) Negro League autographs is a significant reminder of a bygone era. Presenting a range in signature quality of (“7-9”) this vast assortment is highlighted by (2) sets of Ron Lewis postcards signed by (50+) including Mays, Irvin, Leonard & Radcliff (all “9”), a Buck O’Neil bat (“9”), (3) single signed caps with Irvin (“9”), Leonard (“9”) & Dandridge (“8”), (2) single signed balls by Radcliff & Scott (both “9”), Bell & Irvin letters (both “9”). Multi-Signed Framed Photo framed to dimensions of 14-1/4 x 12-1/4” under cream-colored matting, a 10x8 color photo is signed by subjects (from left to right): Judy Johnson, Monte Irvin, Peter Ueberroth, Cool Papa Bell and Buck Leonard. The blue marker signatures all resonate (“10”) strength.
