The third of only four players in Chicago Cubs annals to homer in his first big league at-bat, former backstop Cuno Barragan wore this Chicago Cubs home jersey during his 1963 swan song at Wrigley Field. The cream-colored button-down flannel garment features a blue pinstripe pattern, “CUBS” embroidered in red to a canvas plate on the left breast and “9” sewn to the back in blue felt. Graded A10 by MEARS, this gorgeous North Side gamer shows light use with no repairs or alterations. Full photo LOA from MEARS. More on our website.
Additional features include a Cubby Bear logo patch on the left sleeve and size holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. The vented left front tail is home to a “Wilson” size “44” label, while a strip tag within the collar has chain stitched identifiers reading “9-1963-1-44.” The jersey exhibits very minimal fading and has minor fraying about the lower portion of the left sleeve. Barragan played in only one game (April 21 vs. San Francisco) in 1963 and was never to play again at the Major League level.
